Men Claiming to Be ‘Jihadists’ Send Threat Letter Over Vande Bharat Train

Must read

Hyderabad: A letter by jihadists claiming that a Vande Bharat train in Secunderabad would be targeted in an explosion unless ₹2 crore was paid has been declared a hoax by railway authorities.

According to officials, jihadists sent a written communication to the Railway General Manager demanding ₹2 crore. The letter, reportedly routed through an advocate’s address, threatened to blow up a Vande Bharat train if the amount was not paid.

The senders allegedly identified themselves using extremist terminology and mentioned an intent to cause mass casualties. However, railway officials have dismissed the letter as fake, pointing out inconsistencies in the demand.

A senior railway official questioned the credibility of the threat, stating that the communication contained obvious flaws, including instructions related to receiving payment that undermined its authenticity.

Security agencies have taken note of the letter, and standard precautionary protocols were reviewed. Officials have urged the public not to panic, confirming that there is no immediate threat to railway operations.

Further investigation is underway to trace the origin of the letter.
